Can you donate any unwanted aviaries, aviary building materials, or donate money to help us build more aviaries?

Safe Homes Needed

NYPRs main aim is to ensure that all owners are given the right information and support needed to keep their loved parrots at home with them. We do this by offering our free support, but from time to time this is not possible for one reason or another, so we are asked to rehome their bird.

When this occurs we need short and long-term foster homes to offer love and care for any parrot that needs it. The safe home will offer a safe and loving home untill NYPR can match the parrot to a new Aviary home to live with other birds permanently.

If you feel that you can help and become a foster home please get in touch either on the main phone number, or email us using the contact us page on this site.

Thank you!

Q: Do I need to pay to foster?

A: No. We just ask that you become a supporter, but you can give a donation to help us if you can afford it.

Q: Do I need lots of experience?

A: We try and match the experience of the foster home with the needs of the parrot. We will support you all through your time as a foster home.

Q: Do I need a cage?

A: It would help if you have a cage, but if not we can help with this.

Q: How long will I foster a bird for?

A: This depends on how soon the best match can be found for the bird and the foster home. We do not rush as this is when the birds can be moved where they will not be happy. We will keep you in the loop with how the rehoming process is going.

If this sounds appealing to you, then please email us using the contact page and ask for an Application Form!
